Worksite

Contractor's All Risk (TRC)

A site under construction is exposed to bad weather, theft and damage even before the works are handed over. Contractor's All Risk covers the works and the materials on site.

What it covers

Bad weather

Storm, frost or flooding damages the works or materials stored on site. Repairs are covered.

Theft on site

Materials, equipment or fittings are stolen before handover. The loss is compensated.

Collapse during construction

An execution error or accident causes a partial or full collapse before handover. Covered.

Every trade on site

The cover applies to the works regardless of which trade caused the damage, no need to establish individual fault.

What it does not cover

  • Normal wear on materials or equipment is not a covered loss.
  • Theft with no sign of forced entry on an unattended, unsecured site can be declined.
  • Damage caused by a design flaw falls under a different policy than Contractor's All Risk.

Who is it for?

You are running a construction project

Project owner or general contractor, you carry the material risk for as long as the project has not been handed over.

Your site stores valuable materials

Theft or bad weather hitting a large stock can mean a heavy loss before the works are even finished.

Several trades work on the same site

Contractor's All Risk avoids having to identify which trade is at fault before you get paid.

Frequently asked questions

Do I also need Decennial Liability cover?
Decennial Liability covers your liability once a defect appears after handover. Contractor's All Risk covers physical damage to the works during construction itself, a different, complementary need.
Does it also cover my own site equipment (machinery, tools)?
No, that's separate: Contractor's All Risk covers the works under construction, not your own machinery or tools, which need a dedicated equipment policy.
How long does the cover run for?
From the start of the works until handover, sometimes with an extra maintenance period if the policy includes one.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on the value of the works and their duration. Lesto compares several construction-specialist insurers for you.
